Keeper Fantasy Leagues:
As a league commissioner you have to decide who has the final say on trades that are approved or any league issue that are not covered in the rules. The three basic systems are commish, committee or league. Commish - Having the commish or being the commish and having final say on league decisions is NOT a good system or choice. One person should not have the sole responsibility. Every issue or trade will have varying opinions from each owner and if one person makes all the decisions. Team owners may feel left out, cheated or left with a sense of unfairness. Causing teams to leave your league. Especially if the commish is unfair or a cheat. This can also potentially lead to a league that does not change or improve. Committee - This is a better choice than above. Some leagues require a certain number of league owners to be in a committee to make all decisions on any league issue or trade. Rotating them each season. This is a fairer system and committees can either have a majority or a unanimous vote. League - This is the best choice for leagues and a system used at KFL and the most fair. Leagues usually have a certain number of teams to vote on trades and certain issues that will veto it or pass new rules. Example: In a 10 team league, minus the 2 teams trading equals 8. Having 4 teams or 50% of the league vote no on a trade will veto it. The same with any issue that may come up. After deciding on a system. There are a couple basic questions to ask that will help leagues to determine if an unfair trade may be occurring. Previous: Set Your Trading Rules Next: Is there Collusion?
