Procedure for Message Board Draft
______________________________________________

First of all, using a message board draft is a great way to draft. It gives everyone the chance to participate. Which may not happen in a live draft for one reason or another. It makes for a longer draft but as you all know. The draft is one of the best parts of the season and live drafts are far to quick sometimes.

The procedure is basically this. Teams use a message board draft room to post players from a predetermined draft order. The draft starts with the first pick/player posted. Then the next team is on the clock to post their player.

Time limit for the next player to post is 12hrs. It may seem long but it allows for work/emergencies/sleep and what not. The first start of the draft should be fairly quick. If everyone shows up at the draft time specified.

Basically, all that anyone has to do is check the board often to see who has drafted/posted a player to see win you will be due to pick approximately. At the very least teams should check once in the morning and once in the afternoon/evening.

Pretty easy and alot of fun.

      Draft Process and Detailed Steps

      1. Draft Order - Randomized for 1st year leagues.

      2. Draft Time - Are listed at each leagues FLM home page..

      3. Drafting Players - After the draft has officially started each team owner will draft players by posting there picks at the official draft message board. Posting a pick is final and cannot be undone. Specific message boards will be announced for each league.

      4. Posting Picks - Each team will post there picks on a timely basis. Team owners may be emailed when picks have been made and you are required to check the board often to keep from delaying the draft. Posting picks should look like this: Round # - Pick # - Player. Posting who is on the clock next is appreciated and sending them an email. As soon as a Pick is posted the next team owner is on the clock. The draft will continue until all team rosters are full.

      5. Posting Players all ready drafted - Posting a player that is all ready drafted will only cause delays in the draft and hurts your team. You may repost another player when caught. Please make sure you keep a good list of players taken, double check the board and notes often. If a team posts a player all ready drafted the next team is still on the clock. The team that posted the wrong player may repost a new player anytime after the original post.

      6. Player Database - The database for the fantasy league manager is updated manually from the message board. The database of players may not show the current players available and it is up to each team owner to keep track of players all ready drafted. This is crucial to keep the draft moving smoothly and from teams picking all ready taken players.

      7. Time Limit - Each team officially has 12 hours to post there picks. PLEASE do not take the whole time. That is not the purpose of the time limit. This limit is ONLY for emergencies or if a team cannot make a pick right away. This way everyone can participate no matter what.

The Draft Time Limit Will Stop during these hours 12 midnight central time until 6am central time. Of course teams may pick anytime during these hours, the next team on the clock will not have their limit start until 6am however.

      8. Missing Picks - Any teams that go over the posted time limit will receive a time limit penalty and be skipped for their current pick. Teams may post anytime when they return to the board.

      9. Time Limit Penalties

Missed 1st pick will reduce the time limit for teams to 10 hrs. 1st Pick is skipped.

Missed 2nd pick will reduce the time limit for teams to 8 hrs. And first pick is auto drafted. 2nd Pick is skipped.

Missed 3rd pick and those teams will be placed on auto pick. And second pick auto drafted. 3rd Pick is skipped.

Missed 4th pick and teams still on auto draft will automatically draft a player for the prior round. And so on until that team posts or emails the commish. Basically, "no-show" teams will be 1 round behind until they return to the draft.

If a team does not create a pre rank list. Their picks will be determined from the default rankings.

      10. Unable To Pick - Each team is required to make timely picks within reason. If a team owner knows they will not be able to attend portions of the draft. They are required to submit there picks to the commish. Each submission should include position priority, players to be drafted in order and for how many rounds the commish should be drafting players.

      11. Official Players - Will be from the FLMs database of players. Several types of player lists will be available in the draft room. Many rookies and prospects will be available. If you do not see a player listed. Notify KFL and we will do the research and add the player to the database.

      12. Trading - Trading will stop 7 days before the draft and will be posted at each FLM. All trades accepted before the deadline HAVE TO BE POSTED in the "Trades Forum" at your leagues Official Message Board. Both team owners have to post an acceptance for it to be official, then it will go through the 7 day trade review. Trading will continue after the official end.

      13. Team Owner Responsibilities - As a team owner you have responsibilities as a manager that will ensure a quick and good draft by all. These responsibilities include all the procedures above for the message board draft.

Updates - Keeper Fantasy Leagues reserves the right to update or amend this procedure to ensure league sportsmanship and to keep the league challenging and fair.
