Stephan Marbury for Josh Smith?
Question from: Billy O
Question - I have been offered Stephan Marbury for Josh Smith. I am fine with blocks and rebounds and in need of assists & points. Marbury is better in just about every category except blocks/Rebounds. I am concerned about the health of Marbury. If he comes thru like he should I can make a run since I am tied for 3rd place with ground to gain in Assists.

Answer - If you are in need of assists and points, it would seem that Stephon Marbury is a great trade option for you, however I'm not a big fan of Marbury in real life he's a whiner, a ball-hog and he'll never win an NBA championship. Pairing him up with my 2nd most hated NBA player, Steve Not-the-franchise Francis, will only make matters worse for both of them. Who is going to take the majority of the shots? Who gets the assists? Looking at the most recent games, the trend shows that Marbury will get the assists and points, so trade for him but trade with caution. Good luck, Billy!

Answer - I would pull the trigger on that deal if you feel you can make a run with the boost in assists. Josh Smith really is a two category guy (rebounds and blocks), but he can really drag you down in other categories (FG%). While Marbury's health should be a cause for concern, he will help you make up those points in assists that may put you over the top. Quick question, who would Marbury replace in your lineup and who would you plug in for Smith?
