Which Trade Should I Take?
Question from: Drew - Originally received on 12/29/07

Question - I am in a keeper league (10 Majors and 15 Minors). Our Pitching scoring is as follows:

     Scoring for Pitching Categories
BBI - Walks Issued (Pitchers) -.25 points
BS - Blown Saves -2.5 points
CG - Complete Games 10 points
ER - Earned Runs -1 point
HA - Hits Allowed -.25 points
HB - Hit Batsmen -0.25 points
     HD - Holds 2 points
     INN - Innings 1 point
     K - Strikeouts (Pitcher) 2 points
     L - Losses -5 points
     NH - No-Hitters 20 points
PG - Perfect Games 40 points
QS - Quality Starts 5 points
     S - Saves 8 points
     SO - Shutouts 10 points
     W - Wins 10 points

I have been offered John Smoltz, Ben Sheets, and Chase Headley or Adam Miller for Aaron Harang. I know this seems like an easy choice but I could also just get John Smoltz along with Manny Parra for Jacoby Ellsbury. Which trade should I go after?

     Thank you.

Answer - I would keep Ellsbury. I think he will be a great player to come, he just needs to get playing time in Boston. That only leaves the other trade offer. Although I like Harang alot. You will be getting more talent in return for that trade.
