Able To Keep 4 Players?
Question from: Frederick Batts
Question - We are able to keep 4 people in my league. Heavy emphasis on scoring, doubles, steals, blocks and offensive rebounding. Shooting percentages don't mean a lot (except for free throw shooting - you get an additional point for every free throw made).
I have Paul Pierce, Tracy McGrady, Chris Bosh, Pau Gasol & Dwight Howard. Again, I am only able to keep 4 players, and I have no idea who to keep! What are your thoughts?

Answer - Out of the 5 and s% no big deal Paul Pierce (pts.,doubles, steals and Ft) Chris Bosh( young for one... doubles out the ying yang, pts, boards, blocks), T-Mac (when he's healthy) and Gasol... as keepers (good for everything)... Howard is good second yr player avg. double double both yrs and getting better each time out... I'd lean towards howard over T-Mac for 2 reasons... youth and injury status.

Answer - Based on the criteria you gave, I would keep Pierce,
McGrady, Gasol, and Howard. I like Bosh, and while
he's a nice player who is coming along, I don't think
he's totally there yet. Give him a year or two, and I
would have to reconsider (given his potential
improvement and the ages of a couple of the other
players). Pierce and McGrady just score, steal and
rebound too consistently to pass up, and Gasol and
Howard, while being on the upside of good in scoring,
are so stable all the way around it'd be hard to pass
on them either. Not to mention their strong suits,
rebounding. So I'd leave Bosh out this year, and hope
to pick him up in the draft next year before someone
else does. Good luck!
