Howie Kendrick Question? - Originally received on 07/24/07
Question from: Trey
Question - I've been keeping Kendrick on my roster all season long and am currently riding out this DL stint. This is starting to effect my roster decisions as I need to focus on my pitching down the stretch. Is there any basis in the thought of keeping Kendrick next year?
I am in a 12 team keeper league where earch team keeps up to 4 players. Standard categories apply (HR, RBI, AVG, R, SB). My team consist of the following key players: Hanley Ramirez, Matt Holliday, Lance Berkman, Andruw Jones, Aramis Ramirez, CC Sabathia, John Smoltz, Mariano Rivera, and Trevor Hoffman.
As you can see with Berkman, Jones and Rivera my lofty expectations this year have been doused with inconsistent and down right bad play.
Obviously I am keeping Hanley and Holliday but my last two spots are somewhat undecided. What I don't want to happen is to lose Kendrick, someone pick him up next year and then he turns into the next Utley. Would you keep him over Aramis or one of the other guys next year? Thanks.

Answer - You do have a tough decision here. I would keep Hanley and Holliday like you said and a pitcher, which looks like CC is your better option. I definitely would not keep an RP. With that being said, I would keep Aramis over Kendrick. I do like Kendrick alot, but can't justify him over Aramis at this moment. Your best bet is to try and draft Kendrick at your earliest convenience in next years draft.
