Triples Worth More Than HRs?

     Question - A couple of guys in my fantasy baseball league are arguing that 3B should be worth more than HR. Their argument is based around the fact that 3Bs are more scarce. I think this is ridiculous - who would rather hit a 3B than a HR? Please give me your opinion on the matter, we need an outside, expert view.

     Answer - Of all the leagues I have run and seen from other leagues. I have never seen Triples used instead of HRs. I guess the reasoning is this. Most leagues try to emulate real sports in some sense. And just like in real sports, both are trying to win the game. And using unusual categories may take away from this.

     Straight up HRs are more valuable than Triples. Triples may actually be harder to get in real sports, but noone considers them more valuable. Using categories based on how hard they are to get in actual real sports I think will take away from the purpose and experience of the fantasy league.
