Fantasy Trade Questions: Ask the StaffHoush, Burress & Brown?Question from: Junior
Question - I've got another tough decision to make in the upcoming weeks... I've managed to acquire the 3rd overall selection in this year's draft, but it isn't worth a whole lot because we're 10 teams that can keep 10 players each. I've already got all of my most important starting positions filled up with my keepers, except for one which is my flex WR/TE spot.
So since the only decent talent I could get with this pick would look like rookies like Robert Meachem or Dwayne Bowe (Calvin Johnson is a lock to go 1st overall), or leftovers like Kevin Curtis, Jericho Cotchery or Drew Bennett, I thought I maybe could get some more value by trading my 3rd overall to someone willing to give me a good WR.
Thus far, I've received 3 serious offers that I consider. Here they are:
-My 3rd overall pick for T.J. Houshmandzadeh
-My 3rd overall pick for Plaxico Burress
-My 3rd overall pick for Reggie Brown (I'm an Eagles fan so this one is actually reaaaallly tempting)
Note that we still get 0.5 pts for every catch made.
Actually, I'd tell you that the two I like the most here are Houshmandzadeh and Reggie Brown. Ironically, I've got McNabb and Palmer as my two keeper/starting QBs, so one of those duos would look very sweet to me when it has a producing day. I know for a fact that TJ had a heck of a year last year, a lot better than Brown in fact. But Brown is now the new #1 guy in Philly and is 4 years younger and I suspect that the big number of TJ would have been a result of Chad Johnson having his injury bug during the 1st part of the season.
What do you think? Thanks! (BTW, I decided to keep Colston and thank God Joe Horn is out.)
