Fantasy Question: Two Players To Keep?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: kmccarter - My 10-team league is moving to a new format where you use your 2007 picks to "draft" your keepers. Whatever round a player was drafted in 2006, that's the round an owner can keep them in for 2007. Since this makes the keepers more about value than point production, I was looking to get a few early tips or suggestions. You only keep two players, these are the players I'm considering and the rounds they were selected in 2006:

P. Manning (2nd), Javon Walker (6th), Laveraneus Coles (10th), Drew Brees (10th), Marion Barber (13th)

Fantasy Question: Three Decent Keeper QBs?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: Spencer - I have three decent QBs on my roster and I need to pick one as my keeper for next year. My options are Matt Hasselbeck, Jay Cutler, and Philip Rivers. Hasselbeck is a veteran and plays in the easiest division, but I fear his best years are behind him, plus he hasn't been the same since his knee injury. The other two are young, but have solid potential. I need to decide by June. At this point, I'm leaning toward Hasselbeck or Cutler. Who would you keep?

Fantasy Question: RB Values Next September?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: Johnny (Bad Dog) M. - I am in a 12-team auction league with a $100 salary cap.We can save an unlimited number of players at an additional $2.50 per player, per year from their base salary. I currently want to SAVE:

Reggie Bush-$14.00(base salary)
Laurence Maroney $11.50(base salary)
DeAngelo Williams $12.00(base salary)
Cedric Benson $10.00(base salary)

Our league can start 3 running backs. I am considering SAVING: Bush for 1 year @ $16.50, Maroney for 2-years @ $16.50 per year, Williams for 2-years @ $17.00 per year, and Benson for 1-year @ $12.50. Since good running backs are "money" in our league, I want to SAVE all 4 and trade or buy out 1 of them next August. I am a FF veteran, but I will gladly consider expert advice.

Can you give me an idea as to what these players relative value will be next September?

THANKS, Johnny(Bad Dog) M.

Fantasy Question: Maurice Jones-Drew or Michael Turner?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: Kenny - Who has the most value as a keeper league RB and the best chance of producing in 2007, Maurice Jones-Drew or Michael Turner? Obviously, the value of both depends on the off-season. Jones-Drew's value would sky-rocket if Taylor were to retire or get traded. Turner's value is dependent on his being traded to another team, as well as the offensive line strength of that team (as we saw with Edge in 2006).

Thanks! Kenny.

Fantasy Queston: Alex Rios or Delmon Young?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: Sean - Who would you draft for in a keeper league (mixed Yahoo 5x5) and is it this close I'm leaning towards Rios because of character and maturity and the 1st half of last season shows he might be ready to blossom. Delmon Young 4 years younger is a stud too. It's my pick and your help would be appreciated

Thanks, Sean.

Fantasy Queston: Invest My #1 Pick In?

Ask the Staff: Fantasy Questions
Question from: Dennis - Hey guys - I'm in a 14-team keeper league. We keep 7 and have an 18-rd. supplemental draft where I have overall picks #1, 15, 29, 43 for the first four rds, then it snakes after that. Here are my current seven keepers:

Abreu, Bobby RF NYY
Konerko, Paul 1B CHW
Helton, Todd 1B COL
Verlander, Justin SP DET
Crede, Joe 3B CHW
Ordonez, Magglio OF DET
Sanchez, Anibal SP FLA

Here's my question: with the 98 best players already off the board as keepers, do you think it wise to invest my #1 pick in the new Japanese guy, Daisuke Matsuzaka, or should I go for the best hitter available, probably somebody like Jeff Francouer or Ryan Zimmerman?
