The Jones Brothers

Another pair of brothers that play in the NFL. But, on different teams have a chance to do something that has not been done in the NFL before. Thomas Jones 977 yards (Chicago) and Julias Jones 887 yards (Dallas) both have a chance to rush for over a thousands yards for the first time in NFL history. With 4 games left it looks really good. This brotherly duo has probably set one of those records they and their family can be very proud of.

Praying for 2007

The Chiefs announced today that Priest Holmes will not play again for the 2006 season. But, is hopeful for his return in 07. His effectiveness is debatable, but that's not why I am posting.

I do hope he returns in 07 as he is a potential hall of fame candidate or at least should be considered. But Holmes and Chief fans all across America would like to see him go out healthy and get to see him one more time. Mr. Holmes deserves it at the very least.

Man, I am Sorry Johnny Damon

I would be a little upset that the Bosox bid 51 Million for the rights to talk to pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. Don't get me wrong it is great for the Red Sox Nation. But, come on..... the Sox organization couldn't get it done with Damon? There had to be a better way.

Not Worthy of Knighthood

It has been interesting hearing about the comments on Bobby Knights latest decision on how to coach a player. I personally believe no one should ever lay a hand on another person (Except for self-preservation) as there are better ways of getting things done.

Is it ok to do that to a Student? Child? Spouse? Employee? Friend? Coach or Teacher? Hardly not. And if it was anyone else I think it would be a bigger issue. But, since it's expected of Knight, it is not an issue to most people. I understand that it's just a way some coaches "coach".

Hypothetical Question though. What if a student is talking to Knight about a personal issue that is critical and Knight is not listening. And then the student raps him under the chin. Would that be ok? Probably not since he is younger. Anyway, just some food for thought.

Cheating The "Cheeseheads" ???

Aaron Rodgers to see more time. Not likely. What does this hold for the Packs future? A lot of pain and suffering for the Cheeseheads. Its pretty much a lose lose situation as it is now. The best way for a turnaround is to improve the team as a whole. Neither Favre nor Rodgers will be able to give the Packers a winning season this year. Favre lacks protection and a core of receivers that are on the same page as him. And Rodgers to young and inexperienced.

Red Auerbach Honors

Celtics' all time greatest legend Arnold "Red" Auerbach passed away on Oct. 28 at the age of 89. I spent my time in Boston from 87 to 2004, so I missed seeing most of the great legends and championships the Celts won. But one thing was constant when a Celtics conversation came up. And that was Red Auerbach. So many times I heard about this great pioneer and legend when taking about the rich history of the Celtics. His memory will last forever in Boston and the NBA.

Below are some links about the great Red Aurbach.

The "Cards" Are Finally Right

After losing the World Series in 04, 87 and 85 they finally return to glory in 06. There last series championship came in 82 against the Brewers, winning 4 games to 2. How does this team rank in all-time series team championships then?

The numbers say second for all MLB and 1st in the NL. They have 17 total world series appearances with 10 wins and 7 losses. By far the most in the NL for appearances and wins. There are 4 teams tied at second with 5 total world series wins in the NL.

Regardless of the numbers, ect. People will be talking about the Cards and world series greatness for awhile. Congratulations !!!!!
